Belonging to Stamm 8769, the same as the stallion Come On, she maintains the strong character and the willingness to work which distinguish this great family.
Genetics
Daughter to Contender, Nesquick belongs to stamm 8790, the same as Buehne, which has greatly characterized Thormähelen and Holstein breeding. Buehne, in fact, besides winning more than 70 times in show jumping, she has also produced several stallions and broodmares which have contributed to the success of this important genealogical tree.
Before devoting herself to sport competitions, mated with the thoroughbred Thuswin, she produced Traco, who was a successful jumper in the 1980s, and Fabiolis who was destined to breeding. Retired from sport competitions, Buehne has continued her career as broodmare producing stallions like Castor and Ferdinand-W and excellent broodmares like Rauberin, Talenta and Suehne (by Landgraf I). All of them, thanks to their important genetic characteristics, have contributed to the success of this family which is a mine of great stallions: Thunder and his brother Wunder Boy de Zuuthoeve, Lord Caletto from Fabiolis line, Corronell, Landucci and Sarento by Rauberin, Quistello, Lamont, Come On, and Cheers Cassini by Suehne, Landfein and Capuccino by Telenta, just to mention some.
Her sire Contender was the winner of the Holsteiner stallions licensing in 1986, in 1987 he won the Performance Test at Adelheidsdorf, 1st out of 45 stallions in the 100 days test where he achieved a total index of 133,41 and an index of 146,62 in jumping showing his extraordinary qualities. Sire of many jumpers who compete in top level sport competitions, Contender, horse of beautiful model with a good conformation and excellent qualities, produced sons who are highly appreciated for their qualities of versatility, personality and reliability both in sport and in breeding.
He is at the top of the rankings edited by FN in Germany, Contender is considered one of the best breeders for indices of transmissibility. Sire of numerous approved stallions like Contendro, Contango, Camiros, Cordobes I, winners of Performance Test, he also produced many broodmares awarded States Premium for model and gaits and numerous international winners like Controe (J. Kreutzmann); Carlos 123 (M. Renzel); Montender (individual and team bronze medal at Olympic games in Athens 2004; in 2005 team and individual European Champion in show jumping ridden by the young German rider Marco Kutscher); Checkmate (gold medal in the European Championship and great winner in CSI and CSIO ridden by Meredith Michaels Beerbaum).
Her mother, Annabel is the daughter of the legendary Lord, high quality stallion at the top of the FN ranking, one of the best continuers of his bloodline, great breeder well-known as sire of approved stallions, Premium States broodmares and of extraordinary international winners like Livius (World Champion in 1982; team gold medal in the European Championship, Olympian in 1984); Lugana (CSIO for Switzerland); Lafayette, Pedro; and the stallions Lord Calando, Lord Incipit, Lordron B.
Annabel has also produced Move On who, ridden first by Davide Moro and then by Giovanni Megaton, is giving great satisfaction to the Italian sport.
Nesquick, at first destined to sport competitions for her elegance and temperament, has instead put to good use her precious blood giving birth to Cardamon (Come On, 2004), Anebel (Cento, 2006) Carebel (Berlin, 2007) and another mare by Come On (2002) who remained in the Thormähelen stables.
