Genetics

Caligra del Chirone, broodmare who has entered the prestigious Hanoverian Breeding Jumping Program, is the daughter of Calido (Cantus x Coriander x Roman), beautiful stallion with handsome temperaments, a correct conformation, rhythmical movements and extraordinary gaits that descends from an incredible blood cross. In his pedigree there are in fact: Cor de la Bryere (three times), Cottage Son xx (three times), Ramzes AA (three times) and Anblick xx (two times). The father to Calido I is the mythical Cantus, a very important breeder, sire of approved stallions, of States Premium broodmares and of extraordinary champions on which he passes his high potential in jumping, he is one of the most appreciated stallions in Holstein. From him descend famous international jumpers: Calvaro V (W.Mellinger’s most important horse), Calvano,Come On (performer stallion of international importance who has proved his great qualities taking part in top-level competitions, first with L. Beerbaum, then with R.Schneider and the princess , Haya from Giordania, winning in Grand Prix and World Cup), Candaletto, Calido VII, Cristobal (German Champion in 199s4), Cantate Z (CSIO with G. Govoni), Callao (CSIO with G.Nuti) and the stallions, Canturo, Canavado Z and Cellestial (CSIO with R.G. Bengtsson); just to mention some. The mother to Calido I is Baroness VII who besides Calido I also produced Calido II, approved as stallion in 1997 and then sold in the USA and Catango (by Carthago) in 1999, excellent jumper. Baroness VII is the daughter to Coriander, considered an excellent sire of broodmares, most of his daughters are States Premium broodmares. The maternal grandmother Kollet produced Little Rock (by Landaris), winner of the seven years old Championship at Lanaken. 4th of 53 at the Performance Test at Adelheidsorf in 1994. Calido drew attention on himself thanks to his extraordinary qualities: his exceptional abilities allowed him to achieve an excellent score: 10 in jumping with an index of 140,40; the highest index achieved by competitors at the Performance Test. In 1996 he won 22 jumping shows and he successfully took part in the German Championship. His descendants are very beautiful horses with athletic ability, elastic movements and an innate talent for jumping and are achieving excellent results in competitions confirming the extraordinary qualities of this stallion, characteristics which place him at the top of FN annual rankings. Many of his sons qualified for the final of Bundeschampionate in 2003 and for the final of the German Championship in 2004, where in the 5 years old category two of his sons qualified at 1st and 2nd place: Coster (Calido I × Carthago) and Clintwood (Calido I × Limmerick). In 2005 two of his children are among the best 10 of the Bundeschampionate: Curly Sua and Pikeur Celine, and in 2005 Eurocommerce Acapulco (by Calido I) he began to compete in international competitions (CSIO AACHEN, Bremen, Washington, New York).
The dam Germina is the daughter of the legendary Grannus, extraordinary stallion, universally known as the sire of international winners, which explains his presence as absolute leader at the top of BMC world ranking, his offspring has achieved many victories and up to 2005 has won, just in Germany, more than 3.400.000 €. Among his sons stand out: Gunter, Goby (one of the most important horses in the Canadian team), Gigolo (international winner ridden by N. Pessoa), Grannusch (ridden by J. Whitaker, he has taken part and achieved brilliant results in top-level competitions until the age of 19), Grand Slam (ridden by N. Skelton), Golo (G.Wiltfang and R. Tebbel partner in many competitions and victories), Grand Plaisir (international jumper ridden by Beerbaum). Some of his sons had a distinguished career: among those born in 1982, Top Gun La Silla (ridden by Jan Tops), and among those born in 1983 Governor (ridden by Phillipe le Jeune and Jerry Smit), Gaston M (winner of the German Championship at the age of 6 and of top-level international competitions ridden by H. Sprunger). Three among his sons took part in Barcelona Olympics in 1992 (Top Gun, Imperial e Governor), two participated in Atlanta Olympics in 1996 (Top Gun e Gaston M) and two in Sydney Olympics in 2000 (Remus Equo e Gismo). Many of his sons are excellent show jumping horses and take part in international competitions, the list is long but it’s important to remember Gold Luck and Granulit excellent stallions winners in dressage.
His high quality pedigrees, extremely important for the breeding and development of saddle horses all over the world, can also be found in Italy: Graf Grannus, honoured as the best stallion of the year in 2004 for the good results his sons achieved in sport competitions he is in the Italian Stud book with Graf Noir (stallion who is at the top of rankings in Italy for the amounts won by his sons, two of them qualified for the World Championship in Lanaken for two years in a row), Graf Top, Gratus D.C. etc. Grannus’s daughters have produced excellent horses. It’s not a coincidence that two of his daughters are the mothers of extraordinary champions like Wehiawej (by Westminster), For Pleasure (by Furioso) and Sandro Boy (by Sandro). One of them Germina (mother of Caligra del Chirone) is the mother of Ramonus (Ramiro x Grannus) performer stallion ridden by Helena Weinberg. (GER).
In 2005, 12 years after Grannus’s death (occurred on the 31st of January in 1993) the FN reports his incredible career as sire of 80 winners in Germany (25 of them in class "S"), of approved stallions, of registered broodmares and States Premium Broodmares
The second dam Winfriede is the daughter of Widerhall, excellent Hanoverian stallion, sire of numerous international winners and extraordinary stallions like Wienerwald; sire, in his turn, of excellent jumpers like Wienerwirbel (O. Nagel) and exceptional broodmares who have produced a lot of winners in CSO.

2006
• In foal of Staron: worthy son the extraordinary stallion Stakkato who ridden by Eva Maria Bitter impresses everyone with his excellent style and is considered one of the best of Hanoverian breeding. Staron was the best stallion in jumping at 2001 licensing and the winner of Free Jumping Championship with the richest jackpot of Germany. At the Performance Test in 2002 he proved to the best jumping stallion: 1st classified with the incredible score of 9,09 and obtaining four times the score of 10 in jumping. In 2004 he entered the prestigious Hanoverian Breeding Jumping Program and at the age of six he won in Germany and in 2005 he began to achieve his first placements in Grand Prix. Staron’s sons, born in Germany in 2003 and in Italy in 2004, are excellent for bloodline and superlative movements and have already achieved many recognitions in foals inspections both in Germany and in Italy. In 2005 his three-year-old son Stanley S (Staron x Espri) was the winner of Free Jumping competition in Germany with the excellent score of 8,8.

Corinto VMC sire, Contendro I, descends from the famous stamm 104, like very important stallions such as Capitano (sire of Capitol I+II), Caretano Z, Carneval, Landego, Celano, Corland, just to mention some, and like international sport horses such as Retina (F: Thiedemann, GER), Athlet 90, Corlanda (W. Mellinger, SUI) and Atletico (L.Beerbaum, GER). Contendro I descends from Contender and Bravo , who is also the mother to Caretano Z.
Flair, the mother to Corinto VMC, is awarded States Premium and has also produced the full sister Cascada who won the German Free Jumping Championship in 2006 with the highest score. Also his maternal grandmother, Ascona, is awarded States Premium and was the winner of the German Broodmares Championship in 1980 in Hannover. From this damline descend more than 20 approved stallions and international horses like Dünenelfe with Gerd Wiltfang, Eira and Werra with Nick Skelton (GB).
